There are so many ideas when it comes to decorating for fall that it can be hard to know where to start! Whether it’s elaborately decorated pumpkins, perfectly put together centerpieces, or hand made Halloween crafts, it seems that fall has taken over completely!
If you haven’t started decorating for the season, don’t worry! It’s not too late to “fall” in! There are so many great ideas out there, and in this post, we’re going to share some of them with you.
Tabletops
The Natural Look – Many centerpieces are including wood. Be it branches or round slices of wood used to elevate vases or flowers.
All White- Consider using all white tableware as well as white pumpkins. You could throw in splashes of one other color to make the table really pop.
Candles – There’s so much you can do with candles. You can have skinny candles, fat candles, candles on pedestals, candles underneath cloche’s, candles nestled between vegetables. The color and size can help pull together your tablescape.
Pumpkins and Vegetables and Foliage, Oh My! – Don’t forget that nuts, oranges, squash, wheat, corn, pears, pomegranates, apples and a whole host of other food items (real or fake) can make beautiful decorations. Place a baby pumpkin in the center of each plate, create a basket full of vegetables and flowers, or stack little pumpkins big to small on your table for that extra bit of visual interest.
Consider Trends – one example of a hot trend is succulents. It’s easy to incorporate these aesthetically stunning plants into your fall decor and it’ll give your setting a more modern twist.
Another big trend is chalkboard decor. There are table runners that have chalkboard capabilities and can allow you to write your guests’ names or even the courses of the meal on the table.
You can’t leave emerald out of trend talks. It’s rich green compliments the oranges of fall perfectly. You can work the color into your table runner, candles and green pumpkins.
Metallics are yet another huge trend. It’s easy to paint select pumpkins a shining metallic gold or mix metallic tones to create an updated fall look. Or you could incorporate metallics into your tableware, candle pedestals, napkin rings, or stemware.
Gray is also a really big deal right now. Crisp white contrasts dark gray beautifully and those mild tones can create a table that is elegant and understated.
Bouquets
Gourds Galore – If you’re looking for out of the box ideas when it comes to bouquets, consider putting your flowers in a hollowed out gourd.
Popular Flowers – Wondering what the most popular fall flowers are for tablescapes? Well-loved flowers for fall include chrysanthemums, sunflowers, dahlias, roses, lilies, orange star, black-eyed susans, daffodils, ranunculuses, tulips and hypericum berries.
