Creative Home Décor: Thanksgiving 2014

by Star Furniture on November 10, 2014

GiveThanks_500PixelsDecorating your home for Thanksgiving is a wonderful way to bring the spirit of the holiday and the beauty of autumn into your home. By using natural, easy-to-find supplies, you can create a beautiful Thanksgiving display, that won’t break your budget.

A charming fall accent can be just as simple as gathering up a few pine cones, some ribbon and adding a touch of glitter. Throw in some evergreen leaves and enjoy the fresh scent of fall without even leaving the house. There are many common items that can be transformed into beautiful fall décor.

Interior Designer, Patti Perrier, ASID suggests taking a trip to your favorite grocery or farmer’s market (find one here or here) and loading up on the colors and textures of the season. Then you can fill any type of containers, such as urns, clear glass hurricanes, vases, glass plates, cake stands/pedestals, platters, baskets and trays with all of your favorite seasonal finds!

For your dining area, you can create a more rustic theme by incorporating items, such as pumpkins, feathers or bay leaves. Nowadays, you can find exotic looking pumpkins, gourds or squash in pale greens or blues at places like your local grocery store – sure to fit perfectly into your home’s color scheme.

Or perhaps a modern twist on tradition is more your style!   The black and white stripes add an instant flair.
