The Color Cure: Part 1

by Star Furniture on January 10, 2016

The holidays are over, and if you’re like a lot of us, you might be feeling a little blue. While it’s a lovely color, it doesn’t look good on anyone’s attitude; but we get it! It’s cold outside, and the promise of Santa and holiday cookies have come and gone. You find yourself standing in a living room covered in left behind pine needles and contemplating another New Year’s resolution to eat better and go to the gym more. It doesn’t help that your once-festive winter wonderland of a home has been transformed back into your familiar residence that now seems dull by comparison. Don’t let the winter blues win; Star is here to suggest some beautiful furniture in gorgeous colors that are sure to lift your mood.

Color has a stronger effect on our brains than you might think. For example, colors can have an impact on things like blood pressure, metabolism, and eyestrain. You can use this information to your advantage by making changes to your interior with colors that lift moods and promote feelings of energy, calm, or cheerfulness, depending on your preferences. In the office If you read our post about consulting with one of our interior design experts, you know that a thoughtful color story will make a space look finished. In other words, a color story brings cohesion to the design, or makes it “work.” Since blue is the most productive color, consider incorporating it as a main component of your home office design’s palette.

To make your bedroom a haven of restful sleep and relaxation, remember: green is serene! Another great option for this space is a nice lavender, which also promotes relaxation. You could even try working these colors into the same color story, weaving together an atmosphere of total calm and content. color
