Introducing Magnolia Home Furniture – Part 1

by Star Furniture on May 24, 2016

Does the name Joanna Gaines ring a bell anywhere? I’ll give you a hint: she’s one half of a major home decorating duo who have their own show on HGTV.

That’s right! That Joanna Gaines. She and her husband, Chip, star in HGTV’s hit show, Fixer Upper, and they’ve made quite a name for themselves in the interior design world! In fact, Joanna has teamed up with us at Star Furniture! We are absolutely thrilled to be debuting this celebrity design guru’s very own home collection in our very own showrooms!!

As you probably know Joanna is famous for her Farmhouse/Primitive style that blends French, traditional, industrial and boho with farmhouse and primitive..

We’ll be carrying each of her six different beautiful lines that make up the Magnolia Home collection and we could not be more psyched to share them all with you.

Let’s check out a sneak preview of all that the Magnolia Home Collection has to offer, shall we?

This style is comfortable and welcoming, like summers spent at your grandmother’s house in the country. Joanna’s Farmhouse line features elements like age-worn finishes and scalloped, wooden trims.
As an example take a look at this Church Pew Headboard with its pew shaped wings around shiplap headboard panels.

The Primitive style is no muss and no fuss. Basic, solid pieces that are not only beautifully functional, but last for years and years.

Primitive pieces are hardy and have real weight to them, but are balanced perfectly by simple, effortless details, and relaxed finishes.

You’ll love the bold, purposeful, practical metals featured in this style. These pieces evoke a sense of strength and work to balance the more delicate, whimsical items featured in other styles.

For example take a look at this Industrial dining group. The table has a tubular metal base and a multi-purpose Zinc Planter top. This group is a great example of how Joanna mixes her styles. Here she mixed in linen color French Inspired Upholstered Demi-Wing Chairs to soften the bold lines of this Industrial Dining group.

Do you love these styles so far? Are you bummed because you’re thinking about how you just don’t have enough space in your home for a lot of these Magnolia Homes items? Have no fear! Joanna cooked up a style that was made with you in mind!

By using some truly unexpected shapes and textures together, these pieces are practical and save tons of space. The fun finishes transform retro design elements (such as hairpin metal legs that were popular in the ‘50s and ‘60s) into modern, chic additions.

Here’s one example for you to obsess over:

For those of you out there who like the comfort of familiarity, Joanna offers a collection of her Traditional style items in the new Magnolia Home Collection. It might be called “Traditional,” but this furniture is anything but ordinary.

Joanna plays with simple, fresh finishes with the furniture in this style, which gives traditional-looking pieces new life. Take, for instance, this Dining room. The table was inspired by an architectural salvage find. Joanna designed this Traditional Double Pedestal Dining Table and paired it up with her Traditional Revival Arm Chairs.

Some words that might come to your mind when looking at the gorgeous products in this style: detailed, elegant, and vintage. Think curvy lines in muted colors like soft French Blue and Antique White…classic and comfortable.

This example piece was inspired by a bed in Joanna’s own home.

Last but not least Joanna has designed plenty of accent pieces and accessories that will also be available at Star Furniture. For example; she has designed a metal storage bin chest and a metal windmill. These types of pieces allow you to mix the various design styles as Joanna has intended while still giving you functionality.
