Lucia Gentry

Designer/Sales Associate, Bay Brook location – 30 years
Member of the Bay Area Running Club (BARC)

Experience
Lucia started getting serious about running 8 years ago after participating in a boot camp. She signed up for her first half marathon on her 50th birthday and was hooked after that. Her first full marathon was in 2013 at Disney World. She has now completed 25 half marathons (her favorite distance) as well as five full marathons with this year’s Chevron Houston Marathon becoming her sixth. She hopes to run the Grand Canyon rim to rim for her 60th birthday.

Why run?
Lucia loves how running makes her feel and enjoys the fun competition. She trains in the beautiful Seabrook and Kemah area with a local running community that now feels like her family as they encourage and support each other. If it wasn’t for meeting friends to run early in the morning (4:30, 5, 5:30), it would be too easy for her to stay in bed. Her motto: “One day I won’t be able to run but today is not that day.”
